ROEL® COMPLETES TOPPING OFF OF FATHER JOE'S VILLAGES 16TH & MARKET WORKFORCE/AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

San Diego, CA…ROEL Construction Co., Inc. is very proud to celebrate the topping-off of the Father Joe’s Villages 16th & Market Workforce Affordable Housing Development.  The ceremony, which took place on August 15th, featured the raising of an autographed steel beam signed by the team that is diligently working on the project as well as Father Joe, his staff, and Board of Directors.  Father Joe blessed the beam and all those associated with this inaugural project supporting the low income and working families of downtown San Diego.

The 12-story high-rise building is poured in place concrete with post-tensional slabs and a structural steel roof. The structure itself was constructed using a form flyer system that allowed the MEP and Framing trades to install their work within 2 floors of the pouring deck and could not be achieved by using conventional flyers or shoring systems.  Upon completion, this 217,115-square-foot mixed-use Affordable Workforce Housing project will consist of 136 apartment units, first floor retail space and two levels of subterranean parking and will be the first of its kind for San Diego.  Construction is scheduled to complete in January 2009, with occupancy in mid-February 2009.
